Red For Women is a movement that encourages women to lead by example and make the
time to “Know Your Numbers.” As cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of women it is critical that AS women we educate and advocate for others to know their numbers as their hearts truly depend on it. Hispanics are at a higher risk of heart failure than any other demographic. Being Hispanic my Grams Salazar suffered from Heart Disease as well as my Aunt Linda. "MY WHY" I dedicate my time and efforts to the research and awareness of the cause. To the left is a picture of my Aunt Linda who was the Survivor Speaker at the 2017 Por Tu Corazon luncheon of which we will have this February 8th. Sharing her story impacted many that day as she walked us through her journey of triumph to always find results and to never give up searching for what could potentially save your life. As we have since recently lost my sweet Aunt, I continue to do the work of raising funds for research and education for this #1 killer of women. So I ask you- my family and my friends to help me in my efforts in finding preventable measures and cures in the hopes that none of us have to live a life missing a Grams, Aunt, Sister, friend, daughter, wife or Mom to Heart Disease.
Thank you from my whole entire heart,
Jestine
